History

ENGLISH: In an effort to make biodesign accessible to the entire community, they have created the infrastructure, tools and resources necessary to work and design with organic materials and living systems. They focus on education, research and design (R&D), and collaborations with industry and academia, delving into organismic behavior, material narratives, and sensory explorations, combining craftsmanship with digital fabrication processes. They believe that material-based design is an empowering practice that can help us build a new material world, where materials reinvent themselves to nourish, comfort, console, delight and keep us alive. The workshop is part of Paraguay Project, an industrial building dating from the 70's that today is divided into several spaces for creation and manufacturing. The building formerly belonged to a wholesaler and distributor of accessories imported from China. The S-biotica team has restored the industrial shelves left in the building to build the workshop/laboratory divisions.
