History

The rami ceramics studio was founded in 2018 by 3 women. rami is based on a social, communal and sustainable basic idea. rami is not only a place for individual creative work, but also a place that is concerned with social effects as well as intercultural and interdisciplinary exchange. With rami we want to create a space in which members of every community can relax, feel good, exchange ideas and express themselves artistically. We see it as a fundamental task to deal with the interdependence of culture, society, tradition, art, clay and handicraft worldwide in order to understand ceramics more extensively. The activities of rami promote interest in and understanding of the contribution of “traditional” ceramics around the world to global ceramic culture. For this reason, it is very important to us to support social projects that support this craft worldwide. The exchange with international projects which contribute to the appreciation of unknown ceramics is very important to us. We often compare pottery with meditation and yoga, as ceramics have a strong awareness-raising effect. It is stress-free and supports the awareness to get to know oneself and one's environment while a positive, so to speak earthly attitude to life is created.
