Make Works Vienna

Welcome to the Vienna region. Make Works Vienna is curated by Happylab Vienna. Our goal is to present you the vivid and diverse local workshop scene and provide you with useful insides on material suppliers from our region. You can find innovative makerspaces with all the tools and machines for prototyping and on-demand production from one piece to small series, but also traditional craftsmanship and manufacturers.

Vienna is a place where traditional craftsmanship and innovation meet. Where you find factories that seem to have fallen out of time, but also the newest technologies for prototyping.

Happylab is Vienna’s largest makerspace and wants to help as many ideas as possible to get implemented. The open workshop offers an innovative environment in which people can work on their projects 24/7. 3D printers, laser cutters & CNC milling machines, hand tools, textile machines, electronic workstations and machines for wood and metal processing are available for this purpose.

We are all makers: In our team, diversity is one of the most important strengths - and yet we are united by a passion: We are all enthusiastic makers and love to support and empower other people in their projects!

The team

Leyla Jafarmadar

Leyla is the Communications Manager at Happylab since 2013. Her main goal is to put a spotlight on the amazing projects that are being realised in the maker community and share the stories behind them. At Happylab Leyla is responsible for press and public relations, Social Media and developing new communication strategies. Since 2016 she is also involved in the organisation of Maker Faire Vienna.

Joanna Kowolik

Joanna studied economic and organizational psychology, theater studies, and Slavic studies. Her research was focused on the future of work and the changing work environment. She's been at Happylab since 2016 and is responsible for project and event management where she tries to foster a more inclusive and open environment at the maker space. She's also curating and organizing the annual Maker Faire Vienna.
