History

Our story begins in 2006: Happylab founders Karim Jafarmadar and Roland Stelzer were working on their own research projects, for which they bought a small milling machine and other tools. Quickly the idea came up to make their own small workshop in an inconspicuous garage in the 20th district. To make these tools accessible to the public and thus give other people the opportunity to realize their ideas with CNC milling machines, laser cutters & Co. Without knowing it, the two founded Austria's first makerspace at the time, what is making them pioneers in the maker scene across Europe.
