History

Founded in Abu Dhabi in 2019, Seramic Materials was established to address the growing challenge of industrial waste by developing technologies that convert discarded materials into high-value ceramic products. After more than a decade of research and the development of four patent families, the team created the GCC's first laboratory dedicated to transforming industrial waste into ceramics. In 2025, they launched L'Atelier in Abu Dhabi to scale the production of their handcrafted recycled ceramics while continuing to develop advanced technical ceramics for thermal energy storage. Today, the company collaborates with research institutions, industry partners and the creative sector to demonstrate how circular materials can become practical alternatives for construction and design. The company is currently refining its production process to maximise the use of locally sourced waste streams, with the long-term goal of manufacturing ceramic products entirely from UAE waste materials.
