Michael Rice is originally from Ireland, and has been involved in making for over 20 years. He is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics, and is also an IAC UNESCO member for the UAE. In his work, Michael aims to create surfaces and textures that have a timeless quality, something that is difficult to date to a specific culture or place. This complemented with the form of the pieces creates a synthesis which gives them an archetypal presence.
