Update: Suggest a Factory

Designers, artists, architects, engineers, factory owners, makers, small businesses, tradesmen and academics and that use Make Works can now contribute their own information about local manufacturing.

This means that we can make sure to be building the most comprehensive directory of local manufacturing (at the moment, for Scotland).

We want to know about that wood supplier who really helped you out for that last minute project, the printer where you found a brilliant finish, the best place you've found for pattern cutting, the injection moulders who made you that prototype, the family-run metalworkers down the road.

We'll take that information, and if your recommendations fit the criteria, we will visit, film and verify them.

Why contribute?

Make Works will always be free to use, for everyone - so the more people that contribute, the better this platform becomes. We want to see a future, where everyone can source local production easily and quickly - supporting local fabricators in the process. Small scale, bespoke manufacturing also happens to be a better alternative for the environment.

So tell us about your local manufacturers, makers, material suppliers and workshop facilities. Help us map local manufacturing so that everyone can access and be inspired about it.
