Jeel Design operates as a creative hub specializing in the lifecycle and reinterpretation of vintage Palestinian embroidery. Our services span across design, art, and high-end manufacturing: ____ Vintage Embroidery Sourcing: We provide authentic, original Palestinian embroidery pieces that are vintage and certified to date back to pre-1970.___ Preservation and Upcycling: Expert services in preserving and repairing antique embroidery, followed by upcycling the textiles into new, contemporary pieces for art, fashion, and accessories.____ In-House Collections: We design and produce our own fashion collections (including Kaftans, Thobes, and Silk pieces) and accessories, all featuring preserved Palestinian embroidery.____ Decorative Artwork and Interior Design Collaboration: We work closely with interior designers and architects to create bespoke artwork and art pieces for their clients, including framed embroidery, art panels, decorative cushions, and custom textiles.___ Commissioned Art Pieces: We collaborate with artists by providing the necessary old Palestinian embroidery pieces for their unique projects.
Jeel Design was founded on a deep commitment to safeguard and represent a vital piece of Palestinian heritage: the art of tatreez (traditional embroidery). The name Jeel, which means "generation" in Arabic, embodies the company's core mission to unite the past with the present. The design house specializes exclusively in collecting and preserving Old Palestinian Embroidery that pre-dates 1970. This period represents a significant, distinct era of craftsmanship and cultural expression in textile history. Recognizing the value and vulnerability of these historical treasures, Jeel Design meticulously preserves, repairs, and then up-cycles the embroidery. This process ensures the longevity of the intricate handiwork, transforming vintage fabric from aging garments into relevant, functional, and striking contemporary items.
