Maker Speed Dater

Connecting designers and makers with local manufacturers.

In January 2015, Make Works ran our first Maker Speed Dater event in Glasgow. We had 20 designers, makers and 20 manufacturers in the same room, spending 3 minutes each to 'speed network' with each other and allow new collaborations to happen.

The aim of the event is to better connect designers with local manufacturing, enabling makers to make work more easily. You can read more about the night on our blog.

The event was then posted in Make magazine, and we began to get requests to run Maker Speed Daters in cities around the world. So we are opening up the model to allow Maker Speed Daters to happen internationally.

We already have events starting up in Philadelphia, Dundee and Edinburgh, and we see these events as a great way to know which cities we should be bringing Make Works to next!

If you are interested in becomming a city (or town) host, send us an email to studio@make.works and we can get started.
