Production Specifics

Four different types of material are available, ranging from the most affordable acrylic yarn, through to the more premium merino wool. Some clients have no idea what they would like their hat to look like, they might just have a name or a colour scheme that they want. Other clients can be incredibly specific about a woolly hat design they are looking to create. Wonky Woolies’ core product range is hand made hats but they are happy to discuss other types of bespoke or custom knitwear on request.

Company History

Alison's mum taught her how to knit 5 years ago. She knitted a whole range of things – scarves, dresses, cushion covers, jumpers and took them to sell at craft fairs and markets. She was approached by a Glasgow based company looking for custom design hats to add to their football brand. After developing hats for this client, she continued to get new enquiries spreading by word of mouth. At this point she quit her job and decided to focus on Wonky Woolies.
