Shop Small this Christmas

Celebrating small businesses is for more than just the day after Black Friday, that's why we'll be sharing our favourite makers and things to make locally over the next few weeks. First of all we wanted to share some really great Scottish shopping events that are coming up in December.

We've pulled together a small selection of markets happening over the next few weeks. If you're in Dundee, Creative Dundee have created this brilliant guide to Dundee's Christmas Markets



Christmas Hypermarket


What: With a focus on high quality products the Hypermarket brings together a carefully curated selection by Trakke of their favourite local brands. You can shop your favourite small businesses in relaxed surroundings. Confirmed brands include; Paulin Watches, Hilary Grant Knitwear and Rebecca Torres

What: Over in the East the Accessory Collective are bringing together their favourite local designers, at Hill Street Design. Makers include Emily Millichip, Rowan Joy and Moira Patience Fine Jewellery.

Grey Wolf Sale


Grey Wolf Christmas Sale


What: For some lo-fi Christmas vibes head over to Grey Wolf Studios on Thursday the 7th, for browsing work created in their studios and by other local designers including Laura Spring, Cecilia Stamp and Object Company. There will be mulled wine and unconfirmed rumours about some amazing doughnuts.

Wasps Artist & Maker Market


What: Celebrating the work of their artists and makers across Scotland; Wasps are bringing them all together in The Briggait on the 10th of December.

BAaD Christmas Market


What: Showcasing the works of the local BAaD designers alongside extremely delicious food from the Winter Feast End Food. This is touted as the perfect family day out.

Green Tea Pop Events


Art, Design & Contemporary Craft Market


What: A whole weekend of shopping with a whole host of local design talent at the magnificent Kibble Palace in Glasgow's Botanic Gardens. Hosted by Tea Green Events, makers include Olive Pearson Designs, Jen Smith Ceramics and Green Thomas.

Hepworth


The Hepworth Wakefield Christmas Market


What: For those a little further afield, there are some Scottish makers showcasing their work south of the border in Wakefield this weekend. The Guardian called it "One of Britain's best Christmas Markets" and who are we to argue?
