Clients include artists, design-houses, graphic designers, architects, libraries, companies, individuals and many more. Projects can be from a bespoke one-off to a short run. Downie Allison Downie also offer foil blocking and bookbinding classes for anyone interested in learning a new craft.

History

Downie Allison Downie are a second-generation family business, established in 1981 by Morton Downie, who trained as a bookbinder at Sinclair Wilsons. He was later joined by master binder John Allison in 1997 and was then taken over by Morton's daughter and husband in 2013. The focus of the business is on creativity and quality of product, using the diverse skills and experience of the highly-trained team. Today Downie Allison Downie employs 11 staff and offers a wide range of services including visitors books, portfolios, thesis binding, box-making, short run design & print as well as fine binding and restoration.
