Bute are specialists in warping, weaving and darning. 18 Dobby looms are available, though we are unable to produce jacquard designs. Typical clients are architects & designers, furniture manufacturers, auditoria, conference centres, airlines, corporate businesses, theatres, hotels & restaurants, lecture theatres. There is an in-house design studio to work through specific designs, and an archive for inspiration. Ideally you understand technical specifications already (e.g file types or quantities) and can come with a budget and project timeline. Turnaround can be next day for existing fabrics.

Bute Fabrics is a contemporary fabric designer and manufacturer based on the Isle of Bute, off the west coast of Scotland. Far from being isolated, Bute Fabrics enjoys an international profile, working with designers and manufacturers across the globe. The 5th Marquess of Bute set up the company in 1947 to provide employment for returning servicemen and servicewomen.
